The formal recrutiment process for the PhD researchers was run at the beginning of academic year in October 2021 enabling to recruit the two PhD students to work on the BIPOLAR project right from its beginning on January, 1st. The successful candidates are Olga Kamińska and Kamil Kmita. Olga graduated with a Master Degree of Computer Science with specialization of Software Engineering at the Poznań University of Technology. Currently, she is particularly interested in applying Artificial Intelligence into the HealthCare Industry. Her research focuses mostly on Semi-Supervised approaches and Neural Networks application. In her free time, she is a sport enthusiast.
Kamil Kmita is a statistician/data scientist who graduated from Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science. Kamil is interested in addressing uncertainty in statistical modeling with emphasis on healthcare data, and finds alternatives to probabilistic approach fascinating and worth exploring. In his free time, he likes to read books and to develop software projects in Python. "I am proud of becoming a part of BIPOLAR project. I feel like all my academic and professional career choices led me to Polish Academy of Sciences and this project in particular." - says Kamil.
